Diebold Fucks up Again
Well, I am almost at a loss here. This is practically too stupid to rant about, but practicality has never stopped me before. I simply cannot understand why these people insist on making voting machines.
I like the idea of a voting machine, I even like the idea of internet voting because then I may actually vote. What I have a problem with is retarded companies convincing themselves they are smart and competent.
Some resourceful individual copied the Diebold key, the key that unlocks a vulnerable interface to their voting machines right from the companies dumb fuck website. Couple this with the fact that all the keys in the nation are the same then add on that the keys year after year are the same and you have yourself a real clusterfuck. But that's OK, because you don't need every key, you actually don't even need a single key because the lock can be picked in 10 seconds with normal lock picking tools. It was proven last year that with access to a single voting machine you could insert a vote swapping virus that affected every fucking machine in the nation.

Anyway, you can read more about the voting machine hack, and see where I ripped the images from: BRADBlog
In closing, I think voting over the internet would be way easier. Not to mention more secure, especially since you have a limited interface to the software and zero access to hardware. My use case is the untold billions transacted safely online every single day. Google alone does 15 billion dollars in ad revenue every year.
Also remember, Diebold is backed and contracted by the U.S. Government.
